The Eastern Apiculture Society Comes to South Carolina ~ July 15-19

The Greenville Convention Center is truly a~Buzzzzzzz! Beekeepers from all over the world have gathered for the Eastern Apiculture Society's yearly meeting hosted this year for the first time in South Carolina by the South Carolina Beekeeper's Association.

The first two days of the conference have been filled with educational tracks geared towards increasing the skills of beekeepers of varying abilities. Our own Susan Marie chose the Queen Rearing track with Jennifer Berry from UGA. Jennifer's intensity and ability to communicate her years of experience in the field make her a popular choice for conference attendees.

Part of the Queen Rearing track included a visit to the on-site apiary for a demonstration of how to select frames for "Starter" and "Finisher" colonies for Queen Rearing.
